Aside from songwriting, WILCON is also a journalist. He entered the field before his senior year in college, joining his father at WBND-TV in South Bend, Indiana during the summer of 2022 as a Digital Content Editor.

During his time at ABC57, he covered several major events, including the overturning of Roe v. Wade, the Highland Park Fourth of July shooting and the sudden death of U.S. Representative and South Bend native Jackie Walorski. He also served as a fill-in driver for ABC57’s Mobile Weather Tracker during a severe storm that battered Northwest Indiana and Southwest Michigan in June 2022.

He continued his journalistic career during college, being hired as a Digital Producer at KTLA 5 News in Los Angeles, California in Feb. 2023, three months before graduating.

Since joining the ranks at L.A.’s Very Own, WILCON has written about a litany of topics, ranging from overnight crime and the Menendez brothers to in-flight saxophone solos and celestial movements.

When he’s not writing for the news, he’s writing about up-and-coming musicians for three other publications: Green Tea Magazine, 24HipHop and Rolling Hype.
